In Slovenia, short distances go hand in hand with extraordinary diversity and there is something for every traveller’s taste.

Head to the Postojna Caves for a day of an unforgettable adventure, enjoy an active day in the Julian Alps, visit the fairytale Lake Bled, discover the hills of Goriška Brda, pamper yourself with a visit to one of the many luxurious thermal spas, or enjoy a museum train ride along the emerald Soča valley. With a bit of planning, you can enjoy the snowy slopes of Alps in the morning followed by a dip into the Mediterranean Sea in the afternoon.

Guided tour of the Historical city centre and Ljubljana Castle

Ljubljana Tourism is offering a free guided tour of the Ljubljana city centre and Ljubljana castle to EuCNC 2018 attendees.

Join this regular Ljubljana city tour, take a walk around the historical city centre, and explore all of its major attractions. Continue with a visit to Ljubljana Castle and treat yourself to beautiful views of the city from the castle’s ramparts.

The tour, beginning in front of the Town Hall, takes you through the historical city centre, whose unique architecture is the legacy of the Baroque and Art Nouveau periods and, most notably, the work of the famous 20th century architect Jože Plečnik. The tour includes a stop at one of Ljubljana’s restaurants, where you will have an opportunity to taste traditional Slovenian dishes as part of a brief tasting session.

Ljubljana Castle, standing on a hill above the city for about 900 years, is Ljubljana’s main attraction. On this tour, you will learn about its history and enjoy beautiful city views afforded by the castle’s ramparts.
