5G-PPP: Introduction of Phase 2

The ambition of this sesson is to let the community see the nature and diversity of the new 5G-PPP projects and to stimulate discussions on how the other projects with an interest in 5G may interact with them. The call for projects for phase 2 of the 5G-PPP closed in November 2016 and the selection process will be completed by April 2017. There will be around 20 new projects joining the 5G-PPP with a contractual start date in June or July 2017. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce the new Phase 2 5G-PPP projects and give information on the topics and challenges they will address. This will be complemented by presentations from the signatories of the 5G-PPP agreement: the European commission and the 5G-Infrastructure Association, about the status, ambitions and progress of the 5G-PPP so far. It will also give an overview of the integration of the vertical sectors into the 5G-PPP as the user base of future 5G infrastructures. This session is timely now as the second phase projects will just have been selected and will be finalising the contracting phase.
