Getting to València by plane

The centre of Valencia can be reached from its international airport, which is located eight kilometres to the west of the city and the venue, it is only a 10 minutes’ drive away. The airport is well connected with major European cities with a good choice of direct flights with several flights a day from, 26 airlines operate, connecting 24 countries with a total of 72 cities with direct flights.

Most of the traffic handled by the airport is from Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and France being the countries contributing the highest numbers of passengers.

Moreover, in Spain there are some other important airports to fly, like the Madrid, Barcelona, Reus or Alicante airports.

València Airport offers a wide variety of facilities, including tourist information, assistance with luggage, coffee bar, car rentals, metro service to Valencia and taxi.

So that, the best option to get to Valencia from any city of the world is to get to the Valencia airport, either by direct flight or by stopovers at other connected airports.

In case of flying to Madrid, it is connected to Valencia via high speed train (AVE), one train per hour, one hour and a half duration; but still it is recommended to get to Valencia directly by plane because it is more comfortable and easy.

There are several services connecting the airport with Valencia city. One of them is take a taxi, the journey takes about 25 minutes and costs about 20 €. Other option cheapest is to take the underground, lines 3 and 5 go directly to the city center of Valencia.

Getting to València by train

València Joaquín Sorolla Train Station is the station for high speed trains that connects Valencia with other cities of Spain.

There are 10 high-speed trains (AVE) per day from Madrid to València with the trip in around 1 hour and 45 minutes aprox. Other daily high-speed trains (ALVIA) are also available and take around 2 hours and 10 minutes.

There are 10 trains (EUROMED) per day from Barcelona to València that take around 3 hours.

There are 4 trains (EUROMED) per day from Alicante to València. Other daily trains (TALGO) are also available, both take around 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Getting to València by car

The Spanish road network has improved a lot in the last 20 years and there are good roads to all other Spanish cities. It takes about 2 hours from Alicante, 4 hours from Madrid and 4 hours from Barcelona.

The A7 motorway links the city to all major European road networks.

Getting to València by bus

There are many buses each day to and from the other large Spanish cities (like Madrid or Barcelona). The bus station is on the North of the City, so you will need to get a taxi or a bus to get to the centre.

Transport in the city

There are several comfortable taxi and shuttle services connecting the airport with the venue, hotels and the city centre.

There is an extensive, low cost public transport network covering the city including bus, underground, tram and taxi. We remind you that the registration fee includes a transfer ticket in Zone A, with transfers permitted between subway network (Metrovalencia), bus (EMT) and MetroBus.

Bus

Metro

Single ticket: €1.50 for a journey within the city (Zone A), €3.90 between the city and the airport. Also available at metro stations: Bonometro (10 prepaid trips, €7.60 within Zone A). Taxis

Taxis are not expensive (though there is a minimum fare of €4 during the day and €6 after 21:00), and you can pick them up at taxi ranks or stop them in the street, or ask the reception desk to call one for you.

Bicycle
