Women in Telecommunications and Research (WiTaR) is an EU-level initiative that promotes gender equality, inclusion and empowerment in the 6G Research & Innovation (R&I) community. Originally established by Hexa-X project, it was exploded to the whole community of European projects. This initiative gathers around 50 volunteering members from 12 EU projects, inviting contributions from all genders. The initiative aims at promoting gender inclusivity in the 6G Research and Innovation (R&I) community, as well as empowering women, by improving their visibility and encouraging their leadership in this community. In the meanwhile, WiTaR encourages the 6G R&I community to take into account gender perspective in 6G design and make 6G to be a technology that great benefits and empowers all genders. This convene session aims at introducing the WiTaR initiative to the European and global 6G R&I community, raising awareness of gender inclusivity and engaging different stakeholders and EU projects to discuss possible actions to improve gender diversity and inclusivity in the R&I activities especially in the Smart Network and Services (SNS) Joint undertaking (JU).
