Ultra-Reliable & Low-Latency Communication (URLLC): Fundamentals and Applications

This special session is concerned with the latest developments in the topic of URLLC both in terms of fundamentals and applications. In particular, a number of 5G verticals will be addressed such as vehicle to vehicle communication and wireless Virtual Reality. The invited papers will come from both academic and industrials whose goal will be to assess the latest findings in URLLC research and what lies ahead in terms of challenges and roadmap. In detail, Professors Barbarossa will give a talk regarding the topic of mobile edge/fog computing and its various applications using mmwave communication. Dr. Doppler will give a talk on wireless virtual reality which is one of the hottest topic in the industry, lacking fundamental works. Finally Dr. Chih-Ping Li will provide a talk about the system design of latency and reliability from Qualcomm’s perspective.

Due to its timeliness and the caliber of the invited speakers, the special session will attract a very large audience.
